$172 for 8 pounds, ( $214.50 with shipping ) or $26.81 per pound

American Reloading is selling some powder for pistol and shotgun that looks to be a good substitute for Clays powder. A friend of mine is loading shotgun shells with it and says it is clean burning powder. Since Clays is very scarce and high as hell when you do find it. This may be a better option.

Looks like it might be good in 45 ACP. Let us know if you like it.

I haven't ordered any. I have 30-40 pounds of powder already that I use in 380, 9mm, 40, 45, 38 spcl, 357 sig, 357 mag, 30 carbine and so on and so forth. So, I'm not in the market.

Just posted for others who may be looking for something to replace Clays with.

way more grains per bullet than clays

True, but with clays bringing $50 a pound, and this at $26, which is the better buy ?

With clays, I was loading 180 gr 40's with 3 grains. The starting load for this powder with 180 gr is 3.5........

For you other reloaders, what's your opinion on basic load data (as shown above)? I personally don't trust these no-name powders that don't give a complete set of data with load ranges, pressures, etc.
