New Glock 19 USA - Just FYI

The early "cast iron skillet" finish is Tenifer and the EPA didn't like it so that's why they had to switch to the new stuff.

It's no less scratch resistant than every AR out there.

Tenifer is a process where the metal is given a nitride bath and makes the metal rust resistant. The top coat finish has nothing to do with the Tenifer treatment, it's just top coat. You will find Glocks with a few different top coat types but they were all Tenifer treated Glock did stop using the Tenifer process a few years ago and changed to a similar process but that has nothing to do with the final top coat you see on the gun.

If you want to buy a ugly gun you don't have to spend all that cash and worry about the finish just buy a high point and a can of black spray paint they look the same lol

The tennifer treatment process also penetrates the metal rather than simply covering it. This why a glock with extreme finish wear doesn't rust, also why a polished Glock barrel or slide doesn't rust. Bluing solution won't generally work on a Glock unless significant metal has been sanded off.
