Not them I wrote them off round 15 years ago ACE & A told me I needed a new unit when the capacitor was blown.

rinse off, use coil cleaner (follow directions closely, don't mix to strong or can eat through fins) to clean unit and coils, rinse off again, and use a ant barrier spray/granules around the unit.


dont use high pressure with the hose, you dont want to bend the fins on the coil. usually the "shower" setting on most nozzles works good.

I spread ant barrier around both units, so my guess is the ants are at home inside the unit. I will be cleaning out the unit in the daytime hoping for the best.

Ants and Ga go together. Hands down the best ant killer and repelant I have found is RepelX. It is a bug spray concentrate for horses, cows, etc. It leaves a oil residue on surfaces that keeps killing ants, and new ants will not cross it. Mixed 25/75 with water.

I use it on the house when ants are foraging and trying/have entered. Works great.

I have used it around power boxes and cable openings . Don't know if I would use it on a PC board, but everything else should be no problem on a condenser unit.

Grits. Sprinkle around the unit. The worker ants eat it and carry it back to the Queen, they die when the grits swell.
Eliminates the whole mound in a few days

I have used Corn meal as it swells after it gets wet, same principle as above but I have had good results..A new variate of Ants has come to Georgia a few years ago..I never heard of them until my underground power box was invaded with them...They are called Crazy Ants believe it or not. I used Spectracide Ant Killer and Corn meal..
