NASA warns of possible solar activity heading this way!

Actually, we are going into a normal cycle of higher, intense solar flare/storm activity. It cycles about every 150 years or so...the last "serious" storm was in the mid to late 1800s and believe it or not messed with the telegraph communications of the time. Give that some thought. If it gets that intense this go around there is a serious possibility that it damage or destroy satellite communication. It is supposed to increase through 2012 and peak in early 2013.

The danger is the high electro-magnet intensity like and EMP from a nuclear blast. Except these just keep coming...sort of like a "solar" hurricane season.

It may not reach down as zap us into toast but if satellites get cooked, the S may actually HTF. Comms disrupted, no tv, no internet, no cell, no electronic transactions...yea...it could get ugly.

So, the last one was maybe somewhere between 1861 and 1865? Ruh roh...

I for one would enjoy the quiet for a while.
No phones, people actually driving instead of doing everything else, no tv or radio blaring everywhere you go.
Wow... people might have to actually talk face to face again, no facebook!
