Mushroom hunting (Wild Mushrooms)

I always compared it to apricot but could see cantaloupe. Those are golden chanterelles. Delicious sautéed in a tablespoon of olive oil with a butter pat and salt, pepper.

The ones from the post you quoted were? Those were growing in clusters and smelled like mushrooms instead of fruity so I wasn't sure. No true gills though.

It’s definitely not something to take lightly. The wrong can mean certain death unless you have a liver on standby.

Of course I had some Chantelles with a fresh caught bass for dinner. At least they were chantrelles as far as I can tell. If I die tonight I'll let you know in the morning. My first consumption of a self foraged mushroom.
