This is the truth, I don’t usually run 5 shots in my hunting rifles but only found 3 rifles that consistently do it over and over again cold bore plus 2, unicorn hand loads or factory ammo it doesn’t matter. I was lucky to be handed down one of them made in 1964 and it ruined me for all new purchases because I thought that was normal.
That’s because nobody was shooting a JM stamped Marlin or a pre 64 Winchester there. Everyone knows those are the most valuable and accurate hunting rifles.
Yeah this sounds about right. I’m not an expert, but I can shoot a rifle well enough. If an off the shelf hunting rifle shoots 1.5” MOA or even 2” it is good enough for most hunting applications, especially around here.
I’ve owned a couple of hunting rifles that would shoot 1” MOA with the ammo that matches up best with it, but I always shot 3 shot groups. Who shoots 5 shot groups? I don’t even shoot groups anymore. Groups are ghey. If it hits right where I’m aiming and then repeats the same thing, I’m good.
