daylight pictures are more then perfect, flash night shots not looking to well

Which cam? My 55IR works great at night unless its foggy or raining.

Check your battery life. I have a Primos 35 and a Moultrie and both take great shots during both daylight and dark as long as the batteries are above 50%. Now, I don't let my cams get below 50%.
