can anyone point me to a video to take the stock off or give me some advice. im just checking for markings
i have the bands loose but they are captive but not buy a spring

(this is not a 91/30, but a finnish M1891 re-barreled in 1940)

Under the tang. Aka the action screw on the top. Under that metal should be the date,

1. Remove bands and hand guard
1a. Remove bolt.
2. Take off the magazine follower.
3. Unscrew action screws.
4. Remove trigger housing.

Remove barrel/action from stock.


Easy.
 
Turning the screw in the bands will make them open more. They will need to be slid down the handguard and over the muzzle. Just go slow, maybe some wax on the stock to help keep it from scratching the wood.
