A coworker just showed me how to do this last week.
That's awesome! Just finished sharpening some knives on my stone
Ceramic tile pieces work good to.

I've been telling people about this for 25 yeara and people always look at my like, well never mind about that, but they change their thinking when I show em.

The bottom of a ceramic mug works great. I've used that at friend's houses, my in laws, and my parents- they complained about dull knives and not having a sharpener... so I told them they had all the sharpeners they needed and gave a demo.
