I've seen these before at antique malls and old surplus stores but, never new the history behind the projectile! Pretty sweet! I'd love to shoot one someday! Anyone have one or shot one? Anyone cast their own bullets? Amazing the type of penetration the round has!

I used 58 cal for primitive hunts back in the 70's. They are way overkill for whitetail, but i would have loved to have tried one on a hog. I used 70 grains of black powder and you have to step to the side after the shot to see what you shot at. Powerful and accurate weapons!
