I believe it’s 1 ton per 400sq. ft.I'm going to put one in our garage. My son is turning it into a garage/gym. In terms of tonnage, is there a formula you need to apply in order to know what you need?

400 to 600 hundred square feet per ton is the rule of thumb. But you have to consider insulation windows ect.I'm going to put one in our garage. My son is turning it into a garage/gym. In terms of tonnage, is there a formula you need to apply in order to know what you need?
Dave I’m sure your on me with this is these big box companies are just making it hard on us small guys! Also they give out a lot of false info and don’t care about their customers.Insulation is the biggest factor
Also Dave am I missing something the only way you use to be able to buy equipment pre charged is with a epa license. Has that changed?Mr Cool has some great DIY products and some even come with pre-charged line sets. Mitzu has some great products too but they are professional install.
If you are a do it yourself guy, Mr Cool is perfect. If not, DR COOL can help.
Mr Cool is selling them online. I don't know if a charged line set qualifies or not for an EPA card. That is a good question. Also Dave am I missing something the only way you use to be able to buy equipment pre charged is with a epa license. Has that changed?
