m1 ball ammo

It is doubtful 90 year old ammo (if you find it) will give satisfactory results for load development.

".30 M1 Ball cartridge loaded with a new improved military rifle (IMR) 1185 propellant and 174-grain (11.3 g) bullet with a 9° boat-tail and an ogive of 7 calibers nose cone that had a higher ballistic coefficient of roughly 0.494 (G1 BC),[13][14] that achieved a muzzle velocity of 2,647 ft/s (807 m/s) and muzzle energy of 2,675 ft⋅lbf (3,627 J)"

With bullet weight, BC, and MV, you will get what you want much faster if you have a chronograph, IMHO.

Trying to duplicate m1 ball for period correct shooting, wanting to compare modern handloads for accuracy with m1906, m72,substitute, cmp vintage match, m1, m2 , m2ap, and m2api ball ammo 's modern match ammo and handmade in 1903s with the a5 scope-ww1 setup, w/unertl-m1941 USMC setup, 1903a4, m1c and m1d as well as standard 93, mrk1, 03a3, and standard m1 garand, as well as trying to duplicate hathcocks m70 in 06. Other than me, using a benchrest and chronolo for data mining, how do they actually stack up against modern technology.

Look what I found...
