Leupold vx freedom

I just picked up the Leupold vx freedom 3-9x50 firedot and I honestly think the vortex crossfire scopes are better…. Am I missing something??? For $599 I would expect more.

I’ve been super impressed with all the freedom line scopes I have. Never had the particular model you have though.

Have you compared them in low light conditions? Or in conditions with glare on the glass?

Personally I’ve not been impressed with the crossfire at all in those conditions. The vortex diamondback glass is more comparable to the Leupold freedom in my experience

I can tell you I have some old Redfield scopes that rival the glass in a Leupold VXIII. But I can tell you that the adjustments are spot on. And that makes a lot of difference when shooting long range. Also the Leupold will take a beating and still keep zero. I've also heard that the scope is warranted forever. I don't know how Vortex does there.

The Leupold will shine in low light conditions. The freedom line is a great bang for the buck! If I remember correctly, they have the old VX3 glass. I have a few of them.

All leupolds are underwhelming, at best. That said, the Vortex crossfire line is trash across the board. At the least the leupold may hold zero.
