Correct. It is a C-frame model 73. Essentially it was a J-frame with a K-frame cylinder to compete with the Colt Detective Special. It had an offset cylinder stop to make it work. S&W destroyed most of them and only around 20 examples survive making it a unicorn.
 
I never heard of a "C" frame S&W before today. Was this model, 73, the only model ever built on such a frame / cylinder combination, whether called a "C frame" or not?
From my understanding, this was the one and only C-frame model created. The only reason I heard of this gun is from one day seeing it in a copy of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson and through S&W forums. The picture is one of the only pictures I could find online. I like those banana grips.
