No pictures but I assured you it was a mess. Well I been changing my own oil for nearly 50 years and always, always check to make sure old filter gasket comes off with filter at least till today. Yes you guessed it, the old gasket stuck and I didn’t catch it. Thought I was done, started truck and was pouring oil like it slung a rod. Moro of story make sure gasket is on old filter

That's not that bad. Back in the day my best friend was a mechanic. He, I think he may have been talking to somebody. Remember this is long before cell phones. Anyway, he forgot to put the drain plug back in. Put all 5 qts on the driveway I think it was. I think he at least checked the dipstick before cranking the car. That's when he figured it out.....He was a teenager at the time......

It finally caught up to me a couple of years ago. I've done countless oil changes and I knew as soon as I started the truck exactly what happened. Started it, looked under, ****, shut it off and picked up the old filter. Dagnabit!
You'd think that more gasket is gooder, right? Nope.
