You have a .38 Military & Police also called pre model 10 before the model 10 started in 1957. The C prefix started in 1948 - 1957. Yours was made between 1948 to 1952 because the front sight was changed to a ramped sight in 1952 and the top side plate screw was gone in 1955.
My guest would be that it was made in 1948 or 1949.
The model 67 was in stainless with adjustable sights.
