Do these take Pmags or only FN mags like the 17s?

Pmags if you do a little modification, not hard. I did about 30 mags in 45 minutes

Mine runs p mags fine, I didn't have to modify anything

I think gen 3 Pmags are supposed to work without mods but I have mostly gen 2. I check all of them to make sure I don't damage my bolt.
