Receiver has been refinished. The barrel is dated 46 so part of the post WWII maintenance program.

More than that this is a 5 digit receiver under 50k which means that is was originally a gas trap gun that was converted to the 'current' gas system pre or during the war and then rebarreled later with the 46 barrel. Fair to say it never saw combat as the heal has not been sanded, the receiver heal also shows darker parkerizing indicating it was annealed and it has been refinished. Cool piece.
