Mostly because some very active dog types develop fragile, easy to damage tails, which if not removed in puppyhood will be hosting part of spinal cord and breakage will result in very traumatic injury. That’s in broad strokes.

If the tail is left alone, they can smack it on something hard. Making a cut and they lick at it, and sometime eat it slowly (buddies dog) so they had to take it and get it removed last week. They are so hyper and the tails are like literal whips and hurt.

Boxers are amazing, smart and hilarious dogs! Very loyal as well. We have five and they are all of our kids. We only have one puppy available and the others have found great forever homes!
