    Item Description: All,

    Up for sale is one of the RARER!!! Rifles in my collection...
    A Type 1/Type 2 National Match M1 Garand...
    A splendid piece of history...

    Serial #6,087,XXX
    This is 3,000 and change from the last production Standard M1 built at Springfield Armory in May 1957...
    The Serial # is 900 and change from President JF Kennedy's rifle built in 1959...
    The rifle apparently started as a Rarer Type 1 Match rifle and then was upgraded after it wasn't sold, sometime after 1963...
    NM marked Gas Cylinder...
    NM marked Barrel SA7791035 dated 4/63...
    NM Op Rod
    ME= 0.3
    TE= 2.6
    NM .062 front sight...
    NM rear sight aperture .585
    The rear sight windage knob has been dimpled internally which is correct for the early type 1 rifles before the NM marked rear windage knobs were made...
    SA 65 28287 Bolt with Y01 heat lot...
    SA 65 Trigger group with all late parts and a buttery smooth 2 stage trigger that breaks at 5.4 pounds consistently...
    All internal parts are SA late production parts...
    Stock was upgraded and glass bedded... NO cartouches are on the wood...
    Front handguards are bedded and unitized correctly...

    Any questions ask away...
    Thanks to the ODT as usual...
