This venerable old soul started life in World War II according to the serial number November 1943 at the Springfield Armory in Western massachusetts! There is still a faint Das stamp on the left hand side below the rear sight designating this as a GI issue stock! The wood is a beautiful dark patina with the usual dings and dents but is strong and intact! This is a CMP gun so there are no import marks! It appears to be a correct grade due to every part on it marked SA for Springfield Armory! The barrel is shiny and bright no pitting It has a national match stamped operation rod from Springfield Armory the price quoted is firm! Comes with a GI bayonet! And a hard case
