He's in the ballpark, the inflated price on 5.7 ammo (market, not the op's fault) might seem so.

Nice ones hover in the 3-4k range depending on condition. Explorers slightly higher.

Only brands that stay that high(compared to original purchase price) as a used model are the Patek's, IWC, and Rolex.
