I believe the KPR-12 is a model # made by Mossberg off the 500 Series Shutgun..

yeah, on a whim I later googled kpr12, and found that out. As i said, it's more helpful if the seller would simply post this obviously relevant piece of information, rather than forcing interested parties to figure it out themselves.

From what I found, the KPR12 is a Mossberg variant of their 500 model ( and yeah, i realize the 88 essentially is, too, but this one is supposedly a legitimate Mossberg, not from the Maverick subsidiary).
And, to my eye, this looks to be the same finish as most other 500's, being blued on the barrel and mag tube, and having what looks like the enamel finish on the alloy receiver.
