Item Description: F/S only The AIM rifles were produced up until around 1986 or 1987 when the Romanians (and Civil Guard) officially adopted the new 5.45x39 cartridge and started production on the AIMS-74. The AIM would still be produced for export to other countries however. The leftover guard guns had their receivers torched in half and the rifles were disassembled and sold by the thousands to firearms enthusiasts in the United States as parts kits minus a receiver (per BATF regulations). These are now known in the AK community as "Romy G" rifles. smooth shooting rifle
