Item Description: This H&R Model R99 SPORTSMAN mfg. in 1951 by the HL prefix in the serial number, is one of those guns. UNFIRED to the best of my knowledge. I bought this firearm from a dear friend many years ago that claimed he acquired it from a collectors widow in the early 80’s. Double/single action. 6" vent rib break open barrel. Adjustable sights. 9 shot .22 Long Rifle chambering (will also shoot .22 Short, .22 Long) Mirror bright bore and chambers. NO operational wear. Does has a cosmetic scratch on the handle from something along its life. Checkered walnut medallion grips. The gun comes in the original box and packaging, owners manual, & warranty information! This would be a perfect addition to someone’s collection. The value for this jewel is truly unknown, but I am pretty firm with the price of $1500.
