Item Description: 1986 Toyota 4x4 Pickup - Hilux - Engine like new - VERY little rust - High End Custom gauges - great little truck - really turns heads. Needs paint and a bit of body work on bed. Truck is otherwise VERY solid. Needs some work to cherry it out, but runs and drives great!

Engine was meticulously upgraded less than 2000 miles ago - 1983 Rebuilt R22 Engine
New head
New Crank
New Pistons, valves, cam, ect...
JUST SERVICED

It was built to run dual DCOEs (Weber side draft carbs)
Close to $6000 to build the engine.

Aluminum radiator
Electric Fan
Crane cams ignition
all LCE, 22RE PERFORMANCE, or TOYOTA parts

i think its all diesels will be right hand drive. im not sure if they ever brought the diesel helix over here.

I thought they were all hilux until becoming the Tacoma in the US market. Still hilux rest of world. Ieft hand drive w diesel or turbo diesel was/is not that uncommon in south and central America and a few other places.

The Toyota small truck has been marketed as the Hilux in most of the world, but typically the truck or pickup in the US. The truck never had an official name until they were badged as Tacomas in the mid 90s. I do remember local dealers often referred to the truck as the SR5 in ads.

Diesels were sold in the US from 81 to 86.

Ah, yes, that’s what I recall too. SR5 was definitely used for years. I’ve just never heard of them badged a Hilux unless I was overseas. I was in Fiji in Feb drooling over the Hilux, and diesel land cruisers.
