Is everything harder to do in the new format?

I agree.

I also understand that moves have to be made and that the best of what was available was chosen, but it does seem like it's less intuitive, a bit more clunky and tasks that used to be one click now take two or more clicks...

One example I'm thinking about:

I used to be able to click on my user name and instantly see what all my friends had recently posted. That same task now takes several clicks to accomplish... Now, having said that, maybe somebody will now post that "it's still that easy, all I have do is follow these simple steps..."
