I found these 2 pictures on a friends facebook, thought I'd share them.

Backstory: The muddy shot is during time frame of the Battle of Nasiriyah, the dry shot is a few days after it had ended (for the most part). I was a mortar-man with 2/8, part of RCT-2, Task Force Tarawa. Mind you this is March 2003, so every grunt didn't have a digital camera at this point in time, which is a shame because I have so many rolls of film that were ruined beyond saving. Thanks for looking, have a good one!

I'm the second little ****-stain from the right, next to my squatting squad leader.

I don't know who took this picture, but just to give you an idea of how bad it rained that night/day. Good call on our Lt to set us up in a flood run-off ditch 2 days before....

Did you ever know a Johnny Paterno? Kid from Jersey, I guess he would have been a Lcpl. at the time, 0311?

No, didn't know many 11's at the time. My group was pretty boot when we went over, at the time we were just getting to know the guys in our own dang platoon.

Plus we didn't mess with the 11's much; they were too squared away for a bunch of fat lazy gun pigs.
