That sucks...I really hate it for you. Gotta go slow when installing the trigger guard and make sure you don't force the pins in. And use proper support too. Sorry, dude. I know some grips may include a trigger guard built in. Don't know of any right off the top of my head.

No big deal with the lower as it is still functional. I'd try a dab of JB weld, crush the roll pin a tad on that spot to take pressure off the hole and touch it up with aluminum paint. If it fails go get one of the grips that covers it up.
