Hey Folks,
Not a prepper and not terribly concerned at the moment with the state of things. That being said, I have always felt like having a stash in the storage room is probably not a bad idea, especially with a household of 7. Lets say you were going to spend 1k, what would you stock up on. Live near a water source and have a berkey coming so water is not an issue. Have a woodburning stove in the middle of the kitchen for cooking/heat, but would probably do well to peel off a little cash and fill back up the wood supplies in the garage. Covered up on guns and ammo. Not looking for something to live out end of the world/ 6 month + time frame. Looking for good recommendations on non-perishables to carry 7 folks through a month or two max. Ideally food that has to be rotated every 3+ years as opposed to six months. Figure a 5 pack of bic lighters and some dried beans is a start. Generator maybe? in the event of a 1-2 week power outage to keep the freezers from spoiling, but not sure what gas consumption ect is like on those and if it makes sense. Wide open on suggestions.
Thanks!
Caleb
