How do you remove forearm off a AR

Trying to move the rail around but have to get the forearm thing off, I tried to turn the big knob but it wouldn't budge, what do I do?

Search for installing a quad rail and you'll find some excellent videos, including a few from Brownell's that will help with that "forearm thing".

Easy - Make sure the rifle is empty.
Place it on the floor stock down. Sit next to it.
Pull back on the delta ring - the black ring with one hand until you see the lower handguard come clear - then pull it out delta ring end first.
Repeat for the top.

Still wont budge. It looks like the front site is holding it together too. Does it have to come off first?

nope - it always comes off first at the delta ring. You just don't have it pulled back enough. You should be able to see it with the ring pulled back.

Pull it back as hard as you can and have someone else pull them off. There is a tool for removal/install.

The delta ring has spring tension. Sometimes you gotta use gorilla strength to pull it back, sometimes you don't.

You can get creative and do something like this:

Yeah sometimes those things are really tight. Had to get a buddy to hold my rifle last time while i really got my 2 hands on it to remove.
