what is wrong with a carbon 15, I have read about it in magazines and it is cheap, light, and accurate. This would be my first gun, and it is what my brother uses in Iowa to pick off pests. I have never hunted but hope to do so. I don't know if I should take advice from someone with that signature...

You might want to consider a Remington, Savage, etc bolt action for long-range shooting, though.

The Carbon 15's have a reputation for subpar reliability, and I guess it all depends on what your definition af accuracy is. For most it is a moa group, of which very few Carbon 15's will do without internet forum embellishment.
