1879 "S" 9,110,000 minted extra Fine (xf-40) is $37.90 which I think yours is, (AU) Almost uncirculated is $48.50, 1886 yes philly 19,963,886 $36.90 for xf so I figure you got about $70 in coin value and 1.44 oz of silver. (0.7734 oz each)

I love the old Morgan dollars. Yours look to me to be in circulated condition or maybe a slight bit better but these year mints are some of the higher numbers of coins minted. The more coins minted determine the availability of uncirculated coins at cheaper prices thus keeping the coins like yours at a lower value. I would value them at 30 bucks each. Both coins together have a silver value of $46.00 as of today ( 1878-1921 Morgan Dollar = silver value $22.1361 today) . Nice coins enjoy and stickem in the safe for a rainy day.

1879-S Shop 9,110,000 $27.00 - $28.00
1886 Shop 19,963,000 $27.00 - $28.00

They've been in the safe for years, never knew what they value of them were. My dad gave a couple to me when I was younger, and a couple to my kids before he died. Wish a couple of them were from the carson city mint though! :-) Thanks for the info guys!
