You can take it to any O'Reilly Auto Parts store to recycle. Mine has a tank in the back you let you empty your oil into. I'd guess that most other Auto Parts stores doe similarly.Got about 5 gallons, anybody want it before it gets recycled?
Out of curiosity, what uses does used motor oil still have to offer?
This. I use it as fire juice on brush piles.Some folks swear by it as chainsaw oil. Some people heat with it. Farmers/rural folks will mix with kerosene and use as a stain for fences and barns.
I lived on Lassiter Rd. in East Cobb County for several decades. I remember when my grandfather sold the county the ROW to build the road. It was a dirt road until the early 60s and they came along and did a prison gang pave job (if you ever watched "Cool Hand Luke" you'll know what I mean). Oil mixed with tar and a pea gravel top coat..... Fell of my bike on it and still have some of that tar crap embedded in my elbow 60 years later. :0)Helps keep the dust down on a dirt road.
