Look through the junk box at your LGS. You know, the pile no one else looks in with the mag pouches, speed loaders, and FEG mags. ON the bottom will be some real deal WW2 1911 mags, complete with rust. Look for the letter on the top of the floorplate. Like this:

CMP sold some USGI mags. Few years ago, not period correct. These were early 90s maybe still in wrapper.
