Gen 3 Glock Slide on Gen 5 Glock frame

I have a brownells gen 3 glock 17 slide complete with an aim-point acro P2. My issue is, despite the reddit users saying that it will work, my gen 3 slide is not fitting my stock gen 5 glock 17 frame. It slides on, but it goes too far and is a pain in the butt to get off. Any ideas what could fix this?

A Gen3 frame for your Gen3 slide assembly, and/or a Gen5 slide assembly for your Gen5 frame.

For one thing, the Gen5 frame has an ambidextrous slide release, but your Gen3 slide is not cut on the right side for it.

The lockup for the lugs on the barrel are different from the Gen3 to Gen5 G17.

That’s the video I watched. For whatever reason it didn’t work for me. I sold the G17 gen 5 I had and ordered a gen 3 frame to go with my slide. If that doesn’t work I know something is really wrong.
