Has anyone experienced fox fire wood. When I was a young teen, running through the woods we ran up on a place that the ground was glowing bright green. It was raining and pitch black, and the ground was the brightest florescent green I'd ever seen. I touched it, and the rest of the night I thought I'd die of radiation poisoning. An old timer told me it was called fox fire, and was caused by the phosphorus in the roots. Never seen it since.

Seen it under water, but not on land
Use to see it a lot in the big timber forests most virgin timber been cut now.

I saw it a lot when i was younger ,most on the river ridges.
many times. mostly hiking on the AT in GA and SC.
