581? This looks like a stainless L-frame.S&W 581 (no dash) Factory Nickle. Had Pachmayr grips installed but I put some aftermarket wood on it until I can locate my S&W wood grips box.

I thought the 580 series was blued, the 680 series was stainless, and the last digit ( 1 or 6 ) indicated fixed or adjustable rear sights.
