First fire in the wood stove

Yep, this one has close clearance insert.
FYI: you do not have a zero clearance insert
which is a metal insulated box that the stove fits in

beautiful stove, you will get the hang of your stove just takes time & wood
do not use wood with greater than 30 % moisture (you can purchase a meter)
the main cause of creosote is burning wood that has greater than 30% moisture
my splits stay covered for no less than 18 months before burning
I burn Pine, Hickory & Oak, never a problem with build-up
grew up knowing Pine was a no-no, till I got stationed in Alaska and learned better, all any one used was Pine & Fir

Still one log going this morning. House is 75 deg. Heat pump did not run last night. Going to save me some money this winter!
You may alter your cash flow, but you will not be saving any money until you amortize "all" the related costs. Regardless, I prefer the warmth of a wood stove.

I have been using this soapstone stove for 35years; cat likes it in the summer.

The new EPA stoves suck ass compared to the old ones without the smog equipment. I have one of both and quit using the new one. I also won’t ever own another made out of cast iron.

Wood stoves are the way to go. I had an old Buck stove down in the basement. Replaced it with a Drolet 3000 last year and gave the Buck away to a member on here. We definitely don't burn as much propane to stay warm.
