First black Coyote

It's simply a melanistic variation and has nothing to do with breeding. Coyotes are more likely to kill and eat a domestic dog than attempt to breed with it (which is very difficult for lots of other reasons).

I trapped a bit when I was a youth never a yote though none around here at that time. Well played.
There seems to be a large increase in Coyote population and armadillo from 20-30 years ago.

I saw a solid black one across from the Gwinnett fairgrounds on sugarloaf Friday morning. It was a BBC( big black coyote)
