My first job out of the Corps was a gun store with a shooting range. When it came time for me to get someone to “put up or shut up”, I would grab one of our rental guns off the wall; a blued Ruger P85 MkII with one of the safety levers busted off. Don’t think it was ever cleaned. They shot whatever gun they wanted, I shot the Ruger. I never lost.
