Before throwing parts at it, maybe a contact with S&W? Warranty work, maybe? Just a suggestion.

The upper is something I put on. Only the lower is s&w.

I had a gas block that was misdrilled once. Gun ran fine with suppressor; but would short stroke without. Gas block port was drilled in wrong place. Try a suppressor if you have one and see if it cycles.

Wish I had one to try. Unfortunately I don't.

Mid length needs a standard 3 oz. buffer usually. And a middy gas tube. Check the buffer face for a letter. If H - change it.
I have used that barrel before with no issues.

I do. Have someone that's gonna take a look at it today. Hopefully get it narrowed down to the cause of the problem.

How much to have you open up the gas port and when would be a good time to bring it up there?
