Drip your faucets tonight....Cold out there...

Good call. i just shut the valves for the outside lines. I wonder if that will be good enough..
Buy styrofoam faucet covers in Lowes/HD. They worked for me at 30 below+windchill.

Also, the coldest time of the night is between 4 AM and 7 AM. Set you dishwasher (if it has a delay function) to turn on at 4 AM, that will call for water several times for an hour and will get chilled water out of lines.
Put clotheswasher on the timer as well, to start in the middle of the night.

I am on the well/septic, so I do not like dripping water all night. That's little tricks I use.

PS If you have summer Washer fluid in you car, drop a quart of 90% rubbing alcohol in the reservoir, go for a drive to mix it, and use ALL washers to get the treated fluid in the lines.

PPS throw blankets over your fig trees to keep them from freezing.

PPPS if yo have water in your garden hose outside, make sure to disconnect it and leave the spray nozzle open, so ice will have place to go and won't bust your garden hose.

PPPPS cover crawlspace vents, if you have water lines close to them.
