Don't lose focus-

Is there a definitive guide book to survival skills or what's a really good one?

1. The SAS Survival Handook by John Wiseman.
2. The US military field manuals have some great info as well.
3. Tappan on Survival by Mel Tappan (collection of columns for Guns & Ammo). Don't necessary agree with all the predictions but very useful info, Gets you thinking which leds to being smart about how one allocates $$.
4. Tom Brown Series (the books to a small extent contain duplicate info).
5. Foxfire series
6. 98.6 Dgeress: The Art of Kepping Your Ass Alive by Cody Lundin

Nothing beats an actual training (Outward Bound, Military Training, National Outdoor Leadership Skill, etc.) and actual experience.
