Dewalt 20 volt blew up

So the DCD985 half-inch cordless drill driver hammer drill finally gave up the ghost. I was driving some fasteners and I heard it explode inside. Picture shows blown up planetary gears. Not that I would ever fix one but here goes another $160. Of course it was six months out of the three-year warranty. Thanks

Yeah Ive had 2 go out on me. Real weak drills. Im a huge dewalt fan and have dewalt everything but the hammer drills suck. My Makita ones have been awesome

Milwaukee 1/2,3/4 and 1" impact are hard to beat ...............
I let an old boi use my 1/2 18v 'to replace wheels and tires on his 450 JD trailer' and told him it will snap studs .... he looked at both sides of it while in his hand I guess sizing it up ........... then he snapped the first lugg yeah two hours later and one more stud he became a believer
