I have been in the market for another Ruger SP101 in .357 since I sold my last one so I called my buddy who owns an LGS. He didn't have a new one in stock but said he had been to an estate sale in the past couple of days and had something I might like. I stopped by the shop this morning and he had a 1994 model Ruger SP101, new and unfired in the original box with the paperwork. Apparently the old fellow that owned it bought a few guns but never fired many of them. I bought it on the spot. I was pretty excited to find this old gal and wanted to share.

There is a rare SP-101 that Ruger produced for a very short period that I would like to have. It was marked on the shroud of the barrel ".357 Mag 125gr. Only". The cylinder was not long enough to use 158. gr ammo. I worked in a gun shop back in the early to mid 90's and we received a few and then they were gone.

I remember those. The very first .357 Magnum SP101's.
