A friend gave me some pallet racking that I couldn't come up with a good use for, so it had been sitting outside for a couple of years. Had been wanting to build a welding bench, and realized the pallet racking, cut down and welded to the appropriate dimensions, was good source material.
Cut the uprights for with a 38" high bench (including casters). Beams cut down and welded back together to support a 30x60" top (1/4" mild steel from a local welding supply shop). Heavy duty, locking casters via Amazon. Really pleased with how sturdy it is, and how nicely it rolls in the garage. Already did one project on it (built a smaller rolling tool stand for my belt sander and edge planer). So much nicer than working on the floor!
