I think it depends on what you mean by collectible. Will they be 5 years from now, maybe. Are they now? Maybe not, but they do demand prices a little higher than currently sold AK's since they won't be made anymore. O-paps were made from military surplus leftovers at the Zastava factory. The first O-paps also had the front and rear night sights. Thats why they have the bulged front trunnions, their military models had them. They don't have anymore military surplus trunnions so now you have the N-paps. What is or what will become collectible is determined by availablity. Look on gunbroker for N-paps then look for an O-pap and guess what will be collectible 5 years from now. They didn't ship them over here in large quantities for the last 8 years like Wasrs. Egyptian Maadis never used to be collectible either, they are now.
If it is not Chinese, Hungarian or Russian; No.
They certainly aren't as prevalent as the NPAPs. These supposedly aren't being imported anymore and the only place I've seen them online has them for $699. They used to be as low as $530 or so, but that was probably well over a year ago. Who knows if they will be 'collectable', but the numbers imported are relatively low.
