Cleaning a 308 barrel with a 410 brush - okay?

If you can't get a barrel clean, will a .410 brush harm the .308 barrel if a drill is used to turn it in the bore? I"m not looking for alternate suggestions, just needing to know if the person who did this has caused any harm to the bore.

id never do that personally.......but itd depend on what the brush was made of. softer than bore probably no problem......harder then yes. whats the bore look like?

Right now? I dont know, but it didn't even look dirty when I saw it prior to the cleaning. It's a dpms lr308 barrel.

I would not use a power tool to clean any barrel... but if you can get the brush to fit down it, it shouldnt hurt a thing. Most brushes are copper and not nearly as strong as barrels so you have little to wory about.

I use a stepped down 12 gauge brush on my .45

One push through and it is shiney as new! No scratches or anything.
