Chemicals that may hurt polymers

New to Glocks. Got one and went out to get cleaning supplies. Wanted to clean it up good before even firing it. One can of solvent says "Safariland, Break Free, Powder Blast, but the instructions say that it may harm most polymers. Is this a safe chemical to use on Glocks? On the slide? On the polymer lower? Save a newby from ruining my new toy.

Be on the safe side and dont use it. You dont need harshe chemicals to clean your guns. Some hopps #9 to clean the barrel and some rem oil wipes for the outside and of course oil to lube.

Friend of mine in the army said they used baby wipes to clean everything beside the bore and seem to work well when i did it.

Don't use it. I bought some, used it on my marlin 60 and it eat the "plastic" up! I was not happy..
